We love this question. Our artisan network in Ghana, Senegal, and Mali can accommodate custom carving and craft commissions. All of our pieces are one-of-a king, however, we do not personally create custom pieces.
We source from three countries in West Africa: Ghana (shea butter, black soap, kente cloth, carved artifacts), Senegal (baobab oil, jewelry, woven bags), and Mali (seamoss, burning oils, drums). Every product is traded directly with the producing family or cooperative — no intermediaries.
Keep hand-carved pieces away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity changes, which can cause cracking. Apply a small amount of Raw Shea Butter or a natural wood conditioning oil every few months to keep the grain nourished. Dust with a soft, dry cloth — avoid chemical cleaning sprays.
